There are only two remaining internists in Berks county who admit and care for their own patients at Reading Hospital.
Hospital care by your physician who knows you and not by the hospitalist of the day

Our Practice

Founded in 1990 in Berks county as a solo practice, Dr. Rahmanian provides one to one care in a homey atmosphere. Dr. Rahmanian specializes in care of adults including but not limited to the geriatric population. He was one of the first board certified geriatricians in the county. Dr. Rahmanian understands the need for consistent full medical care similar to 'medical home' model that is becoming more popular these days with the exception that he has been practicing it since 1990. That is one physician overseeing and coordinating your care and not a hodgepodge of specialists with little communication in between.

We treat each patient like family. Our compassionate, professional staff is dedicated to providing the highest level of care possible. Because we are physician owned, we are patient driven. This means that we can focus more on providing excellent care, and less on the bottom line. Dr. Rahmanian tried the corporate medicine for less than 3 years, and although he was able to be at his recent location as the solo physician in the office, he found it easier to emphasize patient-centric approach as an independent physician. Therefore, he left that setting resuming the full spectrum of the old fashioned medicine that he knows best. We provide effective care that is responsive to the needs of the individual. Being physician owned means that we are able to focus on you!

As an Internist he has been trained and practicing hospital care since 1987. As a patient of the practice you will have Dr. Rahmanian caring for your in-hospital stay at the Reading Hospital and not the hospitalist of the day or training residents. It has been the model of care since the start of hospital medicine until recently. Now due to less physicians willing to have a hospital practice and hospitals desiring full control of hospital care, most if not all hospitals employ physicians to care for inpatients. However, these physicians have never seen or known the patient, their medical history, treatment, and response which is often unique to that patient. There is no preexisting trust, rapport, or knowledge of patients needs.

Unlike most medical offices, we do not have any glass barriers or windows separating staff from patients. Patients can reach and touch the staff as if they were all in their living room, giving them a family feeling. Our country decor further helps the cozy family atmosphere. Dr. Rahmanian personally decorated the office, so any disagreement can be voiced with him! Some of the items were hand made by his wife.

Although we do offer same-day appointments for established patients when available, we encourage making appointments as far in advance as possible. New patient appointments require longer notice. Our friendly staff will be happy to answer any questions you have regarding scheduling.

New Patients are welcome
